Iranian animation to vie at LA Film Festival in US

Iranian short animation ‘Ascribed Achievements’ is to vie at the 24th LA Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short animation ‘Ascribed Achievements’ directed by Samaneh Shojaei has been scheduled to compete at the 24th edition of the LA Film Festival in the US.

Produced and edited by Shojaei, the animation will go on screen at the Short Film Competition section of the event on June 15 and 18.

The animation, which is a new experience with grotesque narration and real images, tells the story of an old boy, who is dissatisfied with his inborn appearance and decides to end his life but his failed suicide leads to a new situation in his life.

‘Vision’ directed by Soheil Amirsharifi and ‘Retouch’ directed by Kaveh Mazaheri are the other representatives of Iran to compete at the short film section of the event.

The LA Film Festival is a premiere platform for the exhibition of selected new works that establish independent storytellers with unique voices and innovative visions.

The LA Film Festival will be held June 14 - 22, 2017 and will showcase compelling new independent films, TV, emerging online content and filmmaker-driven studio titles.
